Bondage Breaker

i was listening to this song (yes another song...) whistle in your will by jason upton.

but i felt like calling this song, "bondage breaker." i think, most non-Christians worry that when they meet God, they will have to try so hard to please Him when the truth is, God did everything already in order for them/us to become pleasing to Him. we come to God not on our own merits and righteousness remember? but the enemy tried to twist our minds into believing that Jesus was lying when He said, 'my yoke is easy and my burden is light' and so some of us still strive, when all we have to do is surrender and let God do the 'bondage breaking.'

sometimes i wanna scream at people (OR MYSELF) and say, "just give up the STRIVING! it's not you who's gonna do it! until you LET GO and LET GOD, nothing is ever going to work. my goodness, do you actually think you can FREE yourself from the bondage of sin? from the spirit of lust, or insecurity, or addiction? it's never gonna work. because you are still trying to prove to God that you can rid yourself of these things. you are still trying to prove to people that you can CHANGE.

but you can't. at least not on your own. so QUIT the striving. lay down the pride. If we can do it on our own, God would know. Then He would not have sent JESUS because we can manage. but truth is we can't. Thus, Jesus came. So He can take on our BURDENS and make it light.

Yes, LIGHT. If you think your burden is too heavy, then it's not from God. Again, QUIT the STRIVING and SURRENDER... Believe me, when we are weak, then He shows Himself STRONG.
